Subject: Round 2 - Bartow County Loop (BCL) - Shorebird Bonanza 8/31/08 !
              ! !

Hi All,

Since just arriving at the Taylorsville Sod Atlanta farm, another group of birders has just relocated at least 3 of the 4 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER first seen earlier today! This means that there is an Excellent CHANCE that the birds will still be at the site in the morning, and maybe all day tomorrow!

You can check Ken Blankenship's Wings Over Georgia site to find out how to get to and bird the BCL at the follwoing WOG page (Taff Road is just north of Brandon Farm Road and on Hwy 113 as well): http://www.wingsoverga.com/BartowCountyBirdingSites.html#BartowCountyLoop

Important:

To get to the Taylorsville Sod Atlanta Farm from Taff Road and Hwy 113 ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go west on Hwy 113 2.7 miles until you see a yellow sign marked: SR 113 Conn. North, turn right.

Go 1.2 miles (this is on old Hwy 113), turn right on Main St.

Go .6 miles to the stop sign (downtown Taylorsville), turn right.

Go .2 miles to the stop sign, turn right.

Go .3 miles to the Sod Atlanta Taylorsville sod farm.

It is best to just pull into the Sod Farm driveway by the sign and park out of the way and start scoping the sod from there, don't drive down into or all through the sod farm on the sod farm roads!

Good ShoreBirding All!

Mark
