What I said was "The problem is not that the algorithms aren't known,
but that programs have bugs."
"Programs have bugs" includes SAS Software - it certainly has bugs.
Even IEFBR14 had bugs, and it's about as simple a program as you can
imagine (<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEFBR14>).
People trust SAS because it has a lot of people looking for bugs, and we
think that most of the major ones have been found (and probably most of
those have been fixed).
The original discussion was of WPS. It has bugs, undoubtedly. Someday,
if enough people use and test it, and the right number of developers
work on it, WPS also will be trusted.
