Subject: Indigo Bunting ... and where are the Goldfinches?

Yes, us too. Our first-of-the-year male INDIGO BUNTING was just at one of the feeders. The odd thing is that the thistle feeders are normally covered with American Goldfinches when the Buntings arrive but our Goldfinches have scattered for some reason. There are low numbers at our feeders even for our year-round birds much less any arriving birds. I haven't noticed others reporting large numbers of migrant Goldfinches either??

Our pair of BLACK VULTURES were playing at the edge of the pond again on Friday.
