Subject: Help with JDMS & SAS 9.1.3 (or Older)
We've been trying to move from SAS on Unix with
Telnet or X-Windows Clients (Telnet [batch],
X-Telnet [interactive/batch], & X-Windows CDE
[interactive/batch] over to the SAS EG Interface.
The 'conversion' to use the SAS EG Interface from those
described has been, well let's say - less than successful.
Folks are actively working to eliminate both Telnet &
X-Windows. Both in terms of cost (more X-Windows) and
security (telnet) are the primary justifications.
I've been trying to explore the possibility of using
JDMS as a 'lightweight' alternative to X-Windows for
basic Interactive and even possibly batch processing
with Base SAS. There are several references to it with
the SAS Client Side Tools/Components - and in the SAS
Integration Tools IOM Documentation. But I'm not finding
anyh recent distribution or documentation for installing,
setup or getting it working.
Anyone that has any information or experience with it JDMS
I'd love to hear from you - and learn from whatever experience
you may have.
