Hello Friends,
The following note from the SAS Support Knowledge base documents how to
extract a file from a Zip archive using a Filename pipe:
http://support.sas.com/kb/26/011.html
It works as advertised when the archive is a Zip file. However, I have
discovered that while the GUI version of WinZip 11.1 will extract files
from a GZ archive, the command-line add-in that the SAS Filename pipe
relies upon apparently is not as capable.
I have opened up a track with our friends at Cary. However, I am posting
our favorite distribution list in the event that someone has come up with a
nifty work-around.
By way of background, I only have access to SAS on my Windows desktop and
laptop at my benevolent employer. However, I do have access to Linux and
Unix servers via Putty.
Thanks in advance.
