Hi All,
This morning I stopped by the Hills Creek Road/Floyd Creek Church Road
site where the pair of GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE has been recently
reported and was able to relocate them grazing among a quarter
multitude :^) of CANADA GOOSE on the pastures and hillsides behind and
around the pond!
The geese of both species range far and wide from the pond on the
hillsides and pastures around and behind the pond, so make sure to scan
everywhere within sight for the birds. If the GWFG are somewhere behind
the pond you will probably need a scope to find them. If they are
somewhere on the water you may have to wait until they sail out from
behind a bank and into sight.
Also grazing on the hillsides behind the pond were SANDHILL CRANE (7)! A
bunch of GREEN-WINGED TEAL were on or around the pond as well. A good-
sized group of BREWER'S BLACKBIRD were along the fenceline, side, and the
backyard of the house to the right and closest to the pond, with some
EUROPEAN STARLING mixed in!
I think the street signage versus the internet signage for Hills Creek
Road is kind of bad. The road maybe can be called Hills Creek, Floyd
Creek Church, or Pine Bow!
