I had a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH in the pines just behind the Newman Wetlands
Center building yesterday morning, but haven't had much time to look for it
again. Also of interest was a single CEDAR WAXWING today. There have been
2 NORTHERN HARRIERS cruising around the Huie ponds and several AMERICAN
KESTRELS in the area. Today, the Huie ponds are too full for shorebirds,
but good numbers of NORTHERN SHOVELER and GREEN-WINGED TEAL are there.
I found a WESTERN KINGBIRD on private property in Clayton Co. on
Wednesday, 10/17. I was only able to watch it briefly before something
scared it off, and I've not found it again.
