Subject: Upland Sandpipers and Mississippi Kites at Marshallville,
              Macon County
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Upland Sandpipers ( about 28 today) continue at the Super Sod Farm south of Marshallville, Macon County.Take Ga 127/49 southwest out of Marshallville and look for Felton Road on the left about 2-3 miles out of Marshallville. Turn left and you will soon see the sod farm on the right. It is Ok to drive out on the dirt roads that go across the sod. Some of the birds are close to the cross roads and some are further off and may require a scope. Did not see a Bank Swallow today as reported earlier in the week.

We counted about 14 Mississippi Kites along Juice Plant Road north of Marshallville. From the sod farm go back to and through Marshallville and look for Juice Plant Road on the left ( DeLorme page 42, grid D-3). Go about a mile or two and see on the left a field where peach trees have been torn up and left in rows. Look here. Continue until you see on the left a large shed and a dirt road on the left. Turn left and you'll see another sod field on the right. The kites were also seen along this road which is a short distance north of Juice Plant Road.
