Subject:   exporting from SAS to excel

I have a very large SAS file. I need to export the first row into an excel or some kind of tablelike file (word or excel). This row has all of my variable lables (over 400) and I do not want to have to rewrite them into a table one at a time. When I try to export it using "proc export" then I get a message saying that I have too much data to export into excel. Is there any way I can solve this problem? Can any one help?! thanks
