I went out to see the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks and Black-necked Stilts
at Phinizy Swamp NP today. What beautiful birds! The birds are still in
cell 6 but on our first pass they were in the grasses somewhere, on our
second pass they had come out into a more open area. We had forgotten a
camera so went back to the office to get one and they were napping when we
came back.

Also present in this cell was just about every wader. There were a lot of
Little Blue Herons and White Ibis in just about every plumage and age, Great
Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Great Blue Herons and even a Tricolored
Heron. 4 Black-necked Stilts and a Wood Stork along with Anhinga and a
Cormorant. The place was hopping!
