Subject: Osprey
This afternoon, between 1:50 pm and 4:30 pm, Zelia Lebeau and I went
birding at the Chattahoochee Nature Center (Roswell). We saw some good
birds today. I think one of the best was the Osprey we saw over the
river. I checked my records from last year and the first of the season for
06 was 02/27. Also seen were 40 Sandhill Cranes headed NE (rough count).
Also seen, 7 Wilson Snipe, 8-10 Turkey Vultures, 5-6 Black Vultures, 2 Red-
tailed Hawks, 1 Red-shouldered Hawk, and 5 Ring-billed Gulls. There are
lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers and Red-winged Blackbirds around too. For a
cold, windy day it was very productive.
Have a great week!
