Highlights of a trip to Phinizy Swamp (Richmond County) today:
American Bittern-cell 12 near the distribution canal.
Soras-all over, several visible in cell 12.
Cooper's Hawk-coming from the woodlands near cell 9.
Marsh Wren-cell 12.
Sedge Wren-at the back side of the sparrow field on the left of the pond
in the short grasses.
Hermit Thrush (2)-woods behind sparrow field.
Swamp Sparrows and Song Sparrows were everywhere.
The sparrow field was full of Swamps and Songs, with a few Savannah
Sparrows as well.
