The following is a summary of the Georgia Rare Bird Alert (RBA) Monday evening telephone report, October 25, 2006. The RBA is a service of the Georgia Ornithological Society. Jeff Sewell is the voice of the RBA.

The female BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER first seen on Friday at the end of Powerhouse Rd. at the re-regulation lake at Carters Lake in Murray Co., and relocated on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, has not been reported since then.

An immature BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE seen on the beach at the north end of

Tybee Island by Steve Wagner and Deb Barreiro on Sunday, Oct. 22, has not been reported since then.

A female COMMON EIDER was reported by a birder from the UK and forwarded to GABO by Bill Lotz on the East River in Brunswick in Glynn Co. This could be the same bird that was seen by a couple of birders on Tybee Island on October 14. Directions: Go west on Gloucester Street (GA 25) past where it crosses Bay St./Golden Isles Parkway (US 341). Park and walk to the river. Youwill be looking across toward Andrews Island. The bird was seen in the river straight out from this vantage point. http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0610&L=gabo-l&O=A&P=25854

Bill Lotz also reported 2 or 3 Lincoln's Sparrows this morning in the sparrow field near the bathrooms at the Cochran Shoals Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Cobb Co. http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0610&L=gabo-l&O=A&P=25854

A SNOW GOOSE (blue morph) was reported by John Duke and re-found by James Brooks at the big south pond at E.L. Huie Land Application Facility ponds in Clayton Co. on Oct. 24. http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0610&L=gabo-l&O=A&P=25301

Carol Lambert also reported the Snow Goose today and 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 7 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 1 HOODED MERGANSER, and lots of winter duck species from Huie.

A report was made of 2 BALD EAGLES seen at Lake Horton in Fayette Co. along with maybe 100 TREE SWALLOWS. This is very late for Tree Swallows.

Josh Spence reported a CATTLE EGRET from Pine Chapel Rd. in northern Gordon Co in extreme north Georgia. This is a late report for this species in this county. http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0610&L=gabo-l&O=A&P=25756

Gene Wilkinson reports 2 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS from the Glennville Wastewater Facility on Oct. 24. http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0610&L=gabo-l&O=A&P=25525

Lisa Clark reports a COMMON REDPOLL, and a possible HENSLOW'S SPARROW from Friendship Forest in Clarkston in Dekalb Co. This may be a great spot for folks in the Atlanta area to check out. Directions: From the I-285/ Lawrenceville Hwy. intersection, go east towards Tucker. In about 50 yds., turn right on Montreal Rd. At the dead end, turn right on East Ponce de

Leon. Go a short distance and look for the sign for Friendship Forest. Turn into the park and park in the parking lot. Walk downhill from the parking lot. The Common Redpoll was seen in the treeline at the creek near the marshy area in front of you. http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0610&L=gabo-l&O=A&P=25183
