Carol,

I looked for the Limkin on Thursday between about 11:15 and 13:00. Didn't see it, but really didn't think I would (although hopeful) at that time. The park was fairly quiet then, though, but very hot. I just couldn't get out of the house before about 10:30, and I had to drive down from Roswell. Apparently, this particular Limpkin is not aware of gas prices. I'm going to check for it again early Sunday morning after I get back from my trip very early that day. I need that one for Georgia!

Please arrange for it to be there at that time. ;-p

Regards,

Larry

Has anyone seen, or looked for and not seen, the Limpkin at the Blalock reservoir since Tuesday? I didn't see it today, but the conditions weren't ideal... checked at 7:50am briefly, 1:30pm (didn't expect it then), and at 5:20pm. There was very large group event late this afternoon on the nearby peninsula that involved a lot of singing and dancing and clapping and loudness, which might have chased it further up the creek, as it would have me.

There was an imm. White Ibis in the area both early and late. I also checked another area that I thought might be good, but wasn't. Nothing much interesting at Huie except a Lesser Yellowlegs and a panting D-C Cormorant perched among the turtles on a tiny pile of mud; very few swallows still there.

We'll look for the Limpkin again in the morning.
