Patrice,

Understood. Just keep in mind that very few, if any, of our products use SAS. We merely enhance SAS but we don't have dependencies.

Also, everything on the utilities page is free.

When you switch to the "LOG Windows", right-click, select "Tools", "Options", "Colors" and then select "Error". The color definition is right there in the bottom.

It's when I try to change these options that it doesn't work. I tried changing one item at the time but it still doesn't work. The changes don't take effect ever. Even when I close the Log and reopen it or even after restarting SAS.

I don't have the rights (on my machine) to try the products you have on your site. The security issue is too important for them that they don't permit a single piece of software be installed by the user. Since I don't have SAS at home, I'm not able to test all your (seems to be wonderfull) products.

Thanks anyway for your advice and tricks of trade.

Sincerely,

Patrice Bourdages :-)

Look at SaviLog.

I don't think you can do what you are asking for in the SAS editor.

Good morning to you all.

I'm working in a very close and tight windoze environment. We are still using SAS 8.2.0 (planning to upgrade to 9.1.3 later this year).

I'm trying to change the colors for the error message in the log. I trying to switch it from the default to a red background with white letters in the foreground (used to do it without a glitch in my former life). It's easier to spot errors in the log that way when paging up or down. Here, it just doesn't work.

Could someone be kind enough and tell me where does this configuration gets saved if there is a way to change it ? Browsing thru SAS documentation doesn't help me at all.

I was thinking that the personnal profile of the user was where this setting was saved. Think of a environment where system administrator don't allow you to change date, time, background of your screen, colors and a bunch of little things like that. It seems that all the files outside C:\Documents and settings\... are protected for changes.

Thanks a million times for your valuable help and insights.

Patrice Bourdages :-)
