I went through a certification program at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science in 1998, which helped me jump from being a financial sas programmer to a clinical SAS programmer. The cost was around 10K and it took about 6 months. Things may be different now. The person in charge of the program at that time was Ellen Brookstein who worked for a CRO named Covance.
