Chris Loudermilk reported a Lark Sparrow at Sweetwater Creek State Park today at about 1:00 PM.It's in the new section off Riverside Drive or Parkway near the Chattahoochee River. From I-20 west of Atlanta at Thornton Road go south on Thornton a/k/a Ga 6, just before you get to the river you'll see Riverside Pkwy on the right. On DeLorme it's called Lower River Road, p. 26 grid B-1. Turn right on Riverside, cross over Sweetwater Creek ( DeLorme grid C-1) go about 100 yards and see a gate on the left. Pull off here. The bird was just on the other side of this gate. Coming back after birding the area , Chris did not see it. He found it again on the other side of the road on the other side of the gate there. See this area in DeLorme page 26 in the extreme northwest corner of grid C-1.. Notice where Sweetwater Creek crosses the road. This area is just past that.
