Subject: What is the best way to analyze Likert type items?
Comments: To: sas-l@uga.edu

Hello there:

Can someone give me pointers on how to best analyze data that is in Likert form (strongly agree, agree, etc). I have a 5 Likert type questions associated with the variables in my study and there are a total of 30 Likert questions. Moreovoer, I also have other variables in my study that are either categorical or binary.

Besides putting descriptive statistics in my report, what other inferential statistics would be appropriate to find relationships between the Likert items and my other variables.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Best regards, Arsalan
