Subject: Fannin County Red-eyed vireo and Black and White Warbler 3-27-06

I had the first red-eyed vireo and black & white warbler of the season this Monday high on the ridge overlooking Fightingtown Creek. There may have been other warblers with it but they were gone while I searched for this one.

I don't think that Tom Striker reported the wonderful morning a small group of intrepid birders had Saturday for his bird walk at Fannin County Park in Blue Ridge. Although it started out at 26 degrees and was extremely windy there were several brown creepers with at least two seen at the same time. There were also numerous sightings of hermit thrush. There were either more than one or it kept following us.
