I had the first red-eyed vireo and black & white warbler of the season this
Monday high on the ridge overlooking Fightingtown Creek. There may have
been other warblers with it but they were gone while I searched for this one.
I don't think that Tom Striker reported the wonderful morning a small group
of intrepid birders had Saturday for his bird walk at Fannin County Park in Blue Ridge.
Although it started out at 26 degrees and was extremely windy there were several
brown creepers with at least two seen at the same time. There were also numerous
sightings of hermit thrush. There were either more than one or it kept following
us.
