1. Tuesday, February 21, 2006 Free Turkish Movie Night

2. The Office of International Student Life (ISL) and the Peermahomed
Selection Committee are seeking nominations from the UGA community for the
2006 Saeeda Peermahomed Award given annually to a currently-enrolled
international student based upon outstanding scholarship, leadership, and
most actively involved in international programs and/or activities on campus
and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Nominations are due by 5 p.m.
Friday, March 3, 2006. Nominations must include a cover letter detailing the
student's eligibility as well as the nominee's resume and UGA student ID
number. The recipient will receive a certificate, a plaque, and an award of
not less than $500. In addition, the recipient's name will be added to a
plaque permanently displayed in the International Student Life office in
Memorial Hall. For more information about the Saeeda Peermahomed Award or

3. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 Seoul Train
A documentary that tracks the lives of the members of the "Underground
Railroad", a group of citizens who have undertaken the task of leading North
Korea escapees out of China and into safety in Mongolia. Student Learning
Center, Rm 367, 8:00 pm. Free. Sponsored by LiNK.

5. Tuesday, February 28, 2006.Tax Workshop only for students who did not
work in 2005 and their dependents. This workshop will help international
students (and their dependents) who did not work in 2005 to complete their
tax report as required by federal law. 5:30 p.m. Rm 102 of the Student
Learning Center. Sponsored by ISL, isl@uaga.edu.
6. International Graduation Ceremony
Friday, May 12, 2006, International Graduation Ceremony. ISL will hold an
International Graduation and reception for International students graduating
in Spring or Summer of 2006. The ceremony is free, however, you must
register with ISL. You may also purchase an optional sash representing your
country for a small fee. Contact ISL at ugaisl@uga.edu to register.

In Honor of Black History Month, Dr. Syed Rashid Naim from Georgia State
University will be coming to speak about "The Roots of Islam in America."
Join the Muslim Students Association on Tuesday, February 21st at 7pm in the
Tate Student Center to listen and learn about how Islam is tied to Black
History in America. We hope to see you there!!
2. The UGA Career Center is hiring Career Development Interns for the
2006-2007 school year. The Career Development Internship offers the chance

Republic of Korea and Gil-Yeon Pak of the Office of the Permanent Mission of
the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea to the United Nations. Followed by
