This is funny since I expected this question. I actually resigned with 2 months notice and have a permanent offer to return.

I certainly don't agree with everything that Goodnight does nor do I agree with everything SAS does. Anyone who follows SAS-L knows that I take contrary positions. Yes, I know a lot of stories but they deserve to remain private: SAS is not about Goodnight\Sall but about the software and the company.

On that point, SAS-L is for technical issues related to SAS. Let's keep it to that subject.

Alan,

What did they fire you for? The announced lofty goal they had for SAS when it was started was to give people a break from the evil International Business Machines. The evil IBM was sucking their customers and workers dry because they were the only game in town for many years with the hardware and software. People had to buy their crap..... even that shitty os/2! While Goodnight and Sall were lowballing IBM customers to get more business, Goodnight and Sall both developed drinking problems. There were other problems as well, but I would not want to drop those dimes on my former drinking buddies. Let's just say there were a lot of trips to bathroom, if you know what I mean, jellybean. And don't be trying to censor our organization by culling groups. Those groups are entitled to read the whole story and you guys who love to jerk off Goodnight and Sall are trying to limit the ongoing investigation. Yes...investigation. Oh..and about the sheriff story? Didn't you ever hear the rumours about Andy Griffith and Don Knotts being.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

ROTFLMAOH!

**************************************************************************** ********************* Ok, I want to know the "lofty goal" that SAS was founded on. Since SAS has been a 'for-profit' for some time, I don't see where there is an issue. They make products, people buy them, SAS makes a profit. Seems simple to me.

I think that Goodnight and Sall made their money based upon the fact that they produced a good product and worked with their customer base on what was needed in the market. They sold a product people wanted and they were correct in addressing the needs of the market.

You obviously have a chip the shoulder over successful businesses and the people that take the risks and make it happen. Do you honestly think that Goodnight and Sall don't "work for a living"? As a former SAS employee, I can state that Goodnight and Sall work a lot and they are seen on campus regularly.

All young boys play cops and robbers, sheriff and bad guys, etc. What the hell does that have to do with anything.
