If 'datasets generated on UNIX server is Version 8.2' i t is probably not 64 bit. Double chack to see if the data was transferred as a 'binary' Using an FTP program that lets you set as 'bin' download is your best bet. The main problem is that few programs or Windows for that matter know what do do with a 'sas7bdat' extension unless SAS is installed and even then ...
