Birders
I am correctly reminded to tell you that the area immediately to the north
of the SCAD housing complex has a less than stellar reputation. If you park
on MLK as suggested, you are better advised to walk one block south of
Oglethorpe, and go down the two blocks to the birds' location between SCAD
facilities. This is particularly true if you will be carrying and exposing a
lot of expensive optics. Also, go when there is a lot of commercial
activity, which is often, or in a group. Finally, the security patrols and
concertina wire surrounding the student housing complex should serve as a
reminder.
