Subject: Mountain Arrivals

Here are a few first of the season species:

Little Blue Heron - 4/7/05 - White Graves Rd. Great Egret - 4/7/05 - Carters Lake Willet(4) - 4/8 - Boukarts Sod Farm Cliff Swallow - 4/7 - Carters Lake Yellow-throated Vireo - 4/7 - Carters Lake Northern Parula - 4/7 - Carters Lake

There was a Little Blue Heron wading in a swamp off of White Graves Rd. (DeLorme 13 F-9). It was in breeding plumage. This is the first I've ever encountered in the Mountain Region. White Graves is west of Carters Lake. It connects HWY 136 & HWY 411. The swamp is in Gordon County. Boukarts Sod Farm is located on Center Hill-Ballground Rd. (DeLorme 13 E-9).
