First of the season male Brown-headed Cowbird on a feeder in the snow this
morning, just a bit earlier than last year.
All winter birds still present and accounted for this weekend except for the
Brown Creeper. Pine Warblers, which are seasonal for us, are still here.
Common Grackles "move back in" in the spring, and they just returned in
abundance this week. Two Bluebirds fighting with a Chickadee over the box the
morning after I removed the old nest. N. Flickers have just become regulars,
ha-ha-ha'ing from the tops of our trees and snag.
It's still snowing here.
