We can discuss politics there if we want, we can request letters or call about specific issues (I started off the discussion with drilling in ANWR).

It's purpose is to discuss how you got into birding. Why do I want to know? If we (GOS/Audubon/Other) could do something to encourage new birders or bird enthusiasts/conservationists where would we have our best success? Knowing how people got into this hobby would help in that discussion.
