Subject:   Assignment Statement (variable and value creation) with SQL?
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Is there anyway in SQL to do an assignment statement to create a variable and its value on the fly, like there is in SAS? Specifically, I need to query 3 tables and create a column in a 4th table that I am creating where the column in the 4th will be: Table_Source_Name = 'Name of table where data originated' The 4th table will contain rows of data from the other 3 source tables. Of course this is way too easy in SAS, but my hands are tied here and I can only use SQL. Thanks!
