You shouldn't be getting attachments through the SAS-L list server at UGA - I haven't since Joe made the widely applauded change of banning them.

You will see attachments if you're reading comp.soft-sys.sas (the newsgroup version of SAS-L) and the message originated in the newsgroup system.

with an attachment "Santa Clause.zip", which came through. Earthlink's virus blocker had cleaned it out, but it had previously contained "Santa Clause.scr", identified as a virus carrier. (Indeed, ".scr" files are among the most dangerous, in general.)

Does the list permit distributing attachments? I'd thought not -- most don't.
