A Business Statistician performs advanced statistical analysis to support critical business decisions within an assigned line of business. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop customer-centric segmentation, response, purchase propensity, and churn models with respect to customer acquisition, cross selling and retention.

Qualifications: ·Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Operations Research, or related quantitative discipline. Masters or Doctoral Degree preferred. ·Minimum three years data intensive modeling experience in marketing and CRM environment, preferably in financial services industry. ·Thorough knowledge of and the ability to apply some advanced statistical and econometric principles, practices and techniques to business challenges. ·Solid understanding of major algorithms for predictive modeling such as decision tree, logistic regression, and nero-networks. ·Proficient in SAS programming (SAS/Base, SAS/Stats, SAS/Macro, SAS/Graph, SAS/ETS), and SQL essential. ·Working knowledge of Oracle Data Warehouse, Credit Bureau data, market data and demographic data. ·Strong PC skills, advanced proficiency with word processing, flow-charting and spreadsheet. ·Strong problem solving skills. ·Ability to make decisions and apply good business judgement. ·Strong verbal and written communication skills. ·Self-starter with positive initiative and ability to work well in a fast- paced environment.

Functions: ·Conceptualizes Develops, implements, and re-calibrates customer-centric segmentation and propensity models in support of ongoing customer acquisition, product and service cross-sell/up-sell, retention, and product development. ·Interacts with the Management and product/service managers in assigned line of business to understand their challenges and recommends solutions. ·Interacts with IT to implement the models in production environment and provides corresponding production support for the models. ·Designs and develops vintage reports and lift charts that validate, evaluate, and monitor the performance of models in production. ·Develops procedures and methodologies to provide production support to models that are deployed in various business environments. ·Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
