Subject: SAS Data into a formatted Excel workbook
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

People, I am working in a windows environment. I have SAS 8.1. I have a sas dataset where I have replaced the missing values with zeroes as the user requests. The problem is when I export that sas dataset with zeroes into excel 2003 it get blanks instead of zeroes.

Am I correct in saying I will have to create a spreadsheet formatted with zeroes in the area where data will reside and then move my SAS data into that excel 2003 spreadsheet using DDE or something like that ?

I think I am correct, but I thought I would ask SAS-L prior to starting this process.

The sas dataset is very small, about 38 rows including headings so we are not talking about a huge dataset.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts, ideas, just plain "Yeah you are correct that is what you have to do, good luck".

I am sure there are many excellant SUGI papers on this, so it should not be horrible.

Dave
