SAS Programmer/Data Analyst Department of Economics, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Troy, New York

The Department of Economics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY has an open position for a SAS Programmer/Data Analyst. This position has been funded by the Advanced Technology Program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. At this time the job lasts for one year. The successful applicant will work effectively on fundamental determinants of success and failure in Industrial Research and Development projects.

The responsibilities of this position require, first of all, extensive matching of character data across large-scale databases. In addition the position requires data checking and cleaning, data construction, and statistical analysis. Because of these requirements, prerequisites include at least a baccalaureate degree, a minimum of 1 year of SAS experience, and extensive familiarity with SAS Data Step programming, as well as a willingness to improve skills in this area of computing.

This position is highly interactive with James D. Adams, Principal Investigator, and requires extensive teamwork with him. Salary and benefits are competitive.
