Wow, the bane of your career development--that's strong stuff. I think
of sas as what keeps my job in the US--it's entrenched enough (in some
industries anyway) and pretty much needs to be close to the great gobs
of data that it manipulates.
Java programmers can be rented cheap most anyplace... Or so it seems
from what I read on slashdot anyway. 8^)
Cheers,

Quoting "David L. Cassell" <cassell.david@EPAMAIL.EPA.GOV>:

It's likely the only option I have, other than jumping ship entirely.
Just wish there was a better sense of projects that integration is
better suited for.
Since I had several projects that I have done in SAS where I thought
using a Java object would make more convenient, but then realized I was
really better off doing the whole project in Java with no need for SAS.
It's frustrating to realize that Java and SAS seem to be diammetrical
languages that what SAS does well can't be easily duplicated in Java.
What Java does well can't be easily duplicated in SAS.

Nope. Into the fire pit they will go. That is how much I view SAS as
the bane of my career development. I'd only sell them if it brought me
enough to pay for the SCJP certification. *laughs*
