Subject:   Athens Bay-breasted Warbler

Some nice birds in the back yard this morning. The highlight was a first winter female Bay-breasted Warbler that provided extended looks while gleaning in the Ginko and Oaks, a good thing since otherwise it would have been reported as another confusing fall warbler.

Other birds of interest were our first White-throated Sparrow of the season, the immature male Rose-breasted Grosbeak from yesterday in an interesting intermediate plumage, a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, and a stunning male Pine Warbler coming to the millet feeder.

We did not see the Red-breasted Nuthatch this morning but are still hoping for a repeat visit.
