Gordon,

Regarding item #2, there are a number of packages available that allow batch job scheduling on Windows 2000 Servers. Google "batch job scheduling" for a list of different software packages. Also check out http://www.camelliasoftware.com/ for a fairly comprehensive package.

Hi.

We have multiple peole using SAS Connect to run SAS programs from XP clients to a Windows 2000 server. Does anyone have suggestions for the following:

1) I would like to be able to see who else is running SAS jobs on the server, but I do not have admin access to log on. The only thing that I have figured out is that I can run "Performance" and see what the CPU, I/O, memory, etc. usage is, but not who is running jobs.

2) It would be good to have some way of running jobs on the server in serial, like in batch on a mainframe. For example, if the server could be set to run at most two jobs at a time (because two CPUs) and then any other jobs submitted would just wait in a queue until another job completes. Of course then you would want to be able to see how many jobs are in the queue and what position your job is in relation to other.

Does any one know of a way to accomplish this?
