Hi, Peter,

I believe that there are bugs in any piece of software ever written. Except Knuth's TeX system, maybe -- he paid any one who found bugs.

Even though Windows XP may be unstable than some of other platforms, I don't believe sas under Windows have way more bugs than sas running on other platforms. In any case, I believe 8.2 (or 8.02 or 8e) is more stable than either 8.0 or 8.1. Similarly, 9.0 or 9.1 are less stable than 9.1.2.

For latest patches (called hotfixes), see http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/hotfix.html

HTH.

Cheers, Chang
