Subject: Is Anybody Using SAS Data Warehouse Administrator
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

If any of the readers are using SAS Data Warehouse Administrator or the other SAS tools that goes with SAS Data Warehousing, I would like to know how you like the product.

Specifically, How easy was it to install, and after it was installed how easy was it to customize? Did you use any other Data Warehouse product or test/evaluate any other Data Warehouse products?

I recently read that all Data Warehouse products have a big problem - No backup and recovery procedures for the Warehouse. I guess it is the catalog where the meta libs are kept if I understand the way the product works. That all of the data which is kept whether it is on SAS dataset, or Oracle or some other database have the particular data which is deemed essential to build a warehouse is brought into the warehouse from a myriad of sources and platforms, and cataloged with meta libraries so the data can be retrieved by knowing where the data resides from the inforrmation kept in the meta libraries, which are kept track of in the Warehouse catalog. I see where the backup and recovery could be a problem.

Anyway, I would like to hear of the experiences others have had with SAS Data Warehouse Administrator and the other parts of the SAS data warehouse products.
