Hey Jude:

I, like Tim Allen, think more power is better, however, you might check out:

http://www.intel.com/products/roadmap/index.htm

for a link on the right-hand side for processor performance comparisons (and then select the Server tab, as Desktop comes up as the default).

To me, I'd also want to know how the disks are setup, i.e., how many drives/spindles, RAID vs. no-RAID, etc., before making a final descision.
