Subject:   correlation matrix

Hi all, My question is that now I have collected a set of data from a questionnaire, some questions contain 5 scales, such as strongly disagree, disagree, no opinion, agree and stongly agree. For example, the following shows the frequencies of two questions:

Question1: Strongly disagree 25 Disagree 24 No opinion 20 Agree 11 Strongly agree 3

Question2: Strongly disagree 27 Disagree 23 No opinion 20 Agree 9 Strongly agree 4

and so on...

How can I convert these kind of data into a correlation matrix such that I can perform factor analysis? Can anyone give me some suggestions about analysis of this kind of data? Thanks very much for your help!

Regards, Yiu Fan
