Subject: understanding proc factor output
Good evening or good morning
I am running proc factor on some data and am having trouble understanding
what some elements of the output relate to.
Here is my code:
Proc factor data=as5.europe corr method=principal rotate=varimax scree
preplot plot score nfactors=2 outstat=europe_fac;
I understand the eigenvalues, the factor pattern, the orthogonal
transformation matrix and the rotated factor pattern, and how they are
arrived at. But I can't quite understand how the standardised scoring
coefficients are derived and what they mean. They are a result of including
'score' in the proc options.
Any clear explanation would be greatly appreciated.
