Thanks Ian,

I concur with your example and preference. Not having seen such a prolific use of "dots", I found reviewing this set of SAS macro code this past week rathering distracting, and then I saw another program doing the same thing "using dots" frequently and not consistently - and I wondered if I missed something coming down the road in future versions of SAS.
