It's funny, I never knew this was a recognized issue with SAS 8.2 and XP
Pro. I thought it was just a problem with my installation.
I'm sure there are better ways to address this issue, but what I did was
create a shortcut to the help file that resides locally on my system. It
took me about thirty seconds, and I never had to worry about it again.
After realizing how abusive my relationship with XP Pro had gotten, I
decided to leave her and get back together with my old flame, 2000 Pro. I
still keep a shortcut on my desktop; it allows me to get into the SAS help
without starting up the SAS system. But like I said, I'm sure there are
better ways to address this issue.
Doug out.

Subject: unuseful hot fix (problems with SAS v.8.2 help on WinXP)
Running SAS 8.2 on XP I can't get the SAS help while I had no problems
on W2k. I read lots of people had the same problem due to the
hhctrl.ocx file being replaced by IE 6 (version 5.2 instead 4.74 of
hhctrl.ocx).
I tried to fix it downloading 82bb12 included in the SAS 82bx05 HotFix
bundle (http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/v82bx.html).
Unfortunately the problem still stands.
Besides I installed also the SAS Stat 82sx01 HotFix bundle.
Could someone help me?
Is there still something I can do to use the help indeed? I'm a SAS
newbie...
Thanks.
