Dear Ron and Others,

Good Luck on indexing! I have received numerous inquiries/criticisms/suggestions/etc etc about making SCONSIG.com more effective by building "slick" methods to make the site more "searchable" and easier to find what people are looking for - and I have not as yet found the ideal method/service/feature to answer everyone's needs UNLESS I am willing to spend ALOT of money to professional INDEX my site and its 3000 plus pages. And even at that, I am not guaranteed 100% successful searchable methodolgy for every person in the SAS world. One viewpoint in doing so, is the ability to look at the world from everyone's viewpoint and point of reference (not an easy task)!

The last time I looked, the cost for me to index every page would run about $1500 per year which is beyond my personal pocketbook.

As an example of what/how people have searched my site this past month (May 2003), I extracted all the phrases people used and thought you might see what you could be up against when indexing written material:

HTH, Charles Patridge web: http://www.sconsig.com email: charles_s_patridge@prodigy.net

Here are the results - and this only includes 1000 pages (I have more than 3000 plus) of my site as it is FREE for 1st 1000 pages - so, I have filtered out certain sections of SCONSIG.com and specific file types to make the searches as revelant as possible. So, if you do a search it is possible the material is available but my search engine was restricted or not able to go beyond the 1000 page limit to find what you might be looking for.

May, 2003 197 total searches, 126 phrases line 1 = Count (how many times people used this phrase) line 2 = Phrase (what people actually typed to search for ) line 3 = Results Count (the number of hits found with the url listed)
