Hi SASKID,
  Looks to me like you're in luck.  That's an input control dataset.  To
convert it to a format library, just run the following code (add a LIBNAME
statement with the libref of LIBRARY if you want to store it permanently
somewhere;  otherwise, change the libref to WORK):

proc format cntlin=myformat library=library;
run;

Substitute the name of your dataset in for MYFORMAT.

Aaaah, it's getting closer (deep sigh). That's what they did! This is
also a way to make one search for an easter nest. Here is a sample. The
dataset contains over 250.000 lines. I don't hope to have to code t all
by hand. ;-) All tipps, tricks, and techniques very welcome! Thank you
very much so far. Without you I would be lost!
