Salary to 80K +

Applies statistical methodology and statistical analysis to provide information used in the development of scoring models for score cards and other various business applications.

Builds statistical models using consumer reporting data sets obtained from credit and application information. These models are used to predict the likelihood of events or outcomes, based on various behavior sets. Identifies limited number of data elements or variables within the data sets that are significant/predictive, then assigns weights to the variables based on this significance. Quality assures the models developed by programmers. Monitors testing and production to ensure acceptable high quality of data. Collaborates with technical personnel, advising and assisting sales and development personnel in the development of and successful production rollout of scoring models.

Undertakes special projects requested by the President involving data analysis and applications.

Provides timely input and recommendations to the President designed to support effective, profitable production in the company, including identification of problems and variances between project goals and actual performance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Practical experience is the most important factor in candidate’s background. Academic applications are not as useful as model development in business applications. Financial services modeling, such as is used in banks where scoring models are used as predictors in financial decision- making, is preferred.

Working knowledge of tools, such as sas programming, required to facilitate handling of large amounts of data for analysis. Intellectual curiosity, persistence, and strong analytical skills also required.

Must be fluent in English language, both verbal and written.

Satisfactory personal credit history required.

Must be organized and able to effectively manage several concurrent tasks and projects.

Professional demeanor, well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with management, sales and customers, as well as technical personnel are very important.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: Adheres to project schedules and deadlines. Keeps President informed of status of projects and trends that affect the business. Communicates unusual, unresolved or recurring problems or issues to the President.
