I went roaming around the county today. I stopped by the Boukart Sod Farm,
got at least 15 American Pipits. Down the road spotted a Loggerhead Shrike.
I watched it long enough to see it catch a mouse and impale it on the
barbed wire. The shrike didn't eat it then, but just went back to hunting.
Other highlights were two Tree Swallows at the Carters Lake Powerhouse and
three White-crowned Sparrows. I saw a Cooper's Hawk and a Wild Turkey hen
down Ball Ground Rd.
