I rarely trade. I don't expect anything in return for these micros, but always appreciate reciprocity. However, I do not collect freshwater mollusks except when someone wants Florida freshwater specimens. I kayak the rivers and springs a lot and am always happy to see what Mollusks are there for those interested. Note also that a fellow ATSC member is Allan Gettleman, who has an extensive collection of unionids I've frequently had the opportunity to view and appreciate.

Do you have a microscope or other magnification device for ID's?

Marlo

IMarlo, I would be interested in the vial. I am new to CONCH-L but have worked with freshwater mussels for the last 20 years. Since I am getting closer to retirement I have decided to expand my interest to marine species.

I would send a small collection of freshwater unionids in return, if you were interested.

Thanks,

Drew Miller

Last winter I offered vials of west Florida micros to those interested. Domestic collectors only. I have one vial left of about 60 shells and crabs preserved in 70% isopropyl alcohol that had been reserved for a collector from whom I did not receive a reply. I'm clearing my work area and would like to offer this vial to anyone interested. I'd prefer to provide this material to someone other than the 12 collectors who received material last year. However, I will shortly begin my winter collecting campaign and will again have surplus material. So, if any of the 12 are interested in more, contact me. Jan, I'll reserve you samples of all the Marginella species collected.

If you are interested in the vial I have on hand contact me directly at marlo@cfl.rr.com

Marlo
