Subject:   Re: What about us SAS programmers in the pharmaceutical industry?

It all hangs on the attitude of the industry. For example, one of the previous organisations I worked for would fire you for downloading software from the Internet. Didn't matter if it was just SAS source code and totally relevent for th job and freeware. If you downloaded it you could get fired for doing so. So it is a great shame that your venture failed but I am sure this was due to management policies that were thought out before thinking about them.

I'm just addressing the needs of the pharmaceutical industry, but if global sharing is a good idea for statisticians then why isn't it a good idea for pharm industry programmers? Maybe someone could post a good reason. There must be one, after all.
