Howard following are the clarifications reqd by you.

1. We take 1nd January 2001 as starting Date, which is Monday. This is the 1st Day of the month & year too.

2. The week is calculated as Monday to Sunday

3. As in case of partial weeks,lets take an example of April last week and May 1st week. 30th April 2002 is on Tuesday and it falls in the 5th week (last week) of Month April. So, 1st May 2002 is on wednesday of the same week. But 1st May 2002 is considered as falling in 1st week of Month May
