Yes, I've installed and run 6.12 on XP. The install went fine (SAS warns that 6.12 is not supported on this product, but just ignore that), and the test programs I executed worked without a hitch. I haven't heard any complaints from the user since the install.

I just installed 8.2 on my new XP laptop and things went smoothly. I even loaded and screwed around with Enterprise Guide. To me, XP is windows 2000 with a bunch of inane crap on top. IMHO, w2k is the most stable OS Microsoft has released.

Once you get rid of the "enhancements", XP is usable and fairly stable. It takes some effort to patch holes and apply bug fixes, though. :-)

Just my opinion....
