Subject: Optimum Buffsize for AIX Server Using SAS v8.2
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi Everybody,

We are planning on moving to an AIX version 5.1 UNIX server. Right now we are doing some research as to the optimum buffsize for AIX v.5.1 when using SAS version 8.2. We plan on moving to SAS v.9.0 in the future on this same AIX 5.1 platform. As part of this research we would like to ask for substantiated feedback on what the buffsize should be. If any of you know the optimum buffsize for an AIX version 5.1 server using SAS version 8.2 or SAS version 9, please email us the buffsize and whatever documentation or reasoning has led to this conclusion.

Thanks for your help.

Marie
